CryptoConvert v4.05 Release Notes

CryptoConvert’s v4.05 release is officially live! This is the final release of the year for CryptoConvert, but I think it has one of the most impactful new features of the year.
1. New Feature – Portfolio Mode
The newest update for CryptoConvert finally introduces a portfolio tracker mode! Now instead of using the exchange calculator to determine the values of any of your holdings, you can set up a portfolio in the app that matches your holdings and monitor their values in real time. The portfolio feature also allows you to set an “average purchase price” for your holdings (if you know it) to get even better analytics. The portfolio supports editing so you can always change or add to your theoretical holdings over time.
Note: The Free version of CryptoConvert is currently limited to 5 portfolio items. If you’d like to have infinite slots, you’ll have to upgrade to CryptoConvert Pro.
2. Extended Info – Portfolio Enhancements
With the new portfolio feature in place, I wanted to expand upon it and give users better access to their portfolio information across the app. One screen that’s accessible from pretty much anywhere in the app is the “Extended Info” screen about each cryptocurrency. You can reach it from the Movers & Shakers, from the Currency List, from the Calculator mode, etc. but it’s basically some extended information about that particular cryptocurrency.
What’s new on the Extended Info screen now is that if you visit it from anywhere and you have that particular cryptocurrency saved in your profile, then you’ll also see all your portfolio data for it on the screen. This is just another easy way to directly get access to metrics like Today’s Return, Total Return, Current Market Value, and more. If you do not have a particular cryptocurrency saved in your portfolio, this section will be hidden from the Extended Info and it will appear as it did before the update.
3. Lastly, a few Bug fixes, UI tweaks, and performance improvements
Small bug fixes and tweaks. Library updates.
One such bug was an issue where some cryptocurrency icons were not loading into the holders on the Settings page in CryptoConvert Pro – causing a blank image. This has been fixed and all icons should load properly again.
Also removed some unused image assets, which should reduce the size of the APK slightly.
Lastly, where is the app going from here?
Here are some of the future components we want to bring to CryptoConvert within the next few major updates:
- News – A section to catch up on any latest cryptocurrency news for coins you want to follow
- Another highly requested feature has been price graphs, which would also be ideal to add within the next few updates.
- Home screen widgets, price notifications – more on this coming soon!
